About
My name is Patrick Mullen. I grew up in Milwaukee. I am a graduate of Marquette High School and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I moved to to Fond du Lac 20 years ago. I was living in the Washington
D.C. area and I was thrilled to get back to Wisconsin.
I have owned my business for over 20 years. My wife and I built our business from scratch. Our area has so many features that are attractive to small business people like us. For a company that ships all across the nation, a central location like Fond du Lac is ideal.
We also returned to care for our parents. My mother had a massive stroke in 2008 and she had to live in a nursing home. After some rough months at a facility in Milwaukee, she came to live at St Francis Home. The care and love she received there until her death in 2017 reflect the values of this community. The staff always had smiles and a tender loving attitude.
Our community is filled with lots of decent people who value each other. From the simple kindness of shoveling our neighbor’s walk to big donations such as paying off the mortgage at the Humane Society (Thanks you Vickki Sadoff!) our community is filled with people who make living here special.
Most of my family lives out of state. They visit every summer and Fond du Lac is a very special place to all of them.
What we have is different. We have a beautiful, large park on a lake. There are many things for all ages to do in that park on a summer day. The splash pad and the zip line are wonderful additions. They all marvel at the playground! Have you seen a park anywhere that has a playground as big and fun as ours in Lakeside Park?
"We are essentially being told what to build, where to build it, and to pay for half of it. It is proper to ask if this is a good use of taxpayer funds. We should all be aware of what it will cost us, what we will be giving up and be given a chance to vote on it"

" Investors had plenty of time to share their opinions, Patrick Mullen said, and by listening to corporate interests rather than the people, it will show that 'the will of the citizens is secondary to the will of the wealthy and powerful.' Instead, the pavilion project should stand as is, and the investors should create plans for the Saputo property, he said. "

"Members of the public voiced their concern for the possible at the acquisition. Patrick Mullen of Fond du Lac asked council members to speak on what was envisioned for the park, the cost, and if the site had hazardous waste. 'What bothers me about it is the city is committing an unknown amount of money for an unplanned project on a site that is really marginal in what it’s going to add to the park,' he said, adding that he believed there were many small projects that could be accomplished within Lakeside already, as well as at other parks."
